Developing black and white film with Kentmere Film processing chemicals
Developing your films with our Kentmere range of chemicals is very straighforward. If this is your first time developing film or, if you just need a refresher then check out this short video on our ILFORD Photo YouTube channel first.
Or, for a more in depth look this video will be helpful.
- Kentmere Film Developer is designed to be used at 1:9 dilution.
- This means for a 300ml spiral tank you will need to measure 30ml of concentrate and mix with 270 ml of water at the desired temperature and stir thoroughly before adding it to your tank.
- Agitation – Invert the tank 4 times during the first 10 seconds of your development time and then repeat for the first 10 seconds of each subsequent minute. Make sure that you tap your tank firmly on the workbench after each agitation sequence to dislodge any air bubbles.
- Remove your film from your tank about 10 seconds before the end of your development time and then immediately fill your tank with your next solution.
After this step use our Kentmere Stop Bath.
